Brittany

 About Me

Hi. I'm Brittany, the women behind Heart, Soul and Sunshine.  I'm a 29 year old going on 30, living with my husband and kids in our farmhouse in West Michigan, in the process of moving to Bismarck, North Dakota. Jake and I met when we were a young 19 and 22, when we worked together at a local grocery store.  We started to date in 2012 were engaged 6 months later and married on July 20, 2013.  In 2014 we had a rough year and lost our first baby to miscarriage.  After over a year of trying and losing our first baby, we found help through the fertility clinic and were blessed with our first born, a boy.  Sawyer David, on December 24, 2015.  Our Christmas Eve baby! Since it took us so long to get pregnant we figured it would still take awhile even though we just had baby.  Boy were we wrong! Sawyer had just turned six months old and there it was. Two pink lines. That was our Sadie baby! Sadie was about 6 months and we decided to move out of the first house we bought together, and move into our farmhouse in a small town where there is only 1 stop light and everyone knows everyone. About 3 months later, we had another surprise...YUP you guessed it. Another test with 2 pink lines. We welcomed Beau into the world August of 2018. 2018 was a big year for us, as we added chickens to the farm. Our first official farm animal! It was also our first year of having a garden and canning everything we grew. Beau was about 9 months old when we found out we were pregnant with our sweet Madison. We welcome Madison March of 2020 (yes just before all the craziness happened). One October weekend talking with a girlfriend if I wanted another baby or not, and how if we did I wanted a fall baby I thought man, I think I'm late. Sure enough 2 days later another positive pregnancy test! Thomas "Tommy" Allan was born on June 21,2021 the anniversary of his name sake (my brothers passing).  We are now a family of 7. Sawyer 6, Sadie 5, Beau 4, Madison 2, and Tommy 1. To say we're busy is an understatement, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Jake and I just celebrated our 9th year of marriage, and we cannot forget our furry babies Roxy (our boxer), Salem ( our little black kitty). We find ourselves not wanting to forget any step of this journey we call life. Documenting the heart, our home; the soul ; and the sunshine, the family part of our lives, and so much more.  Thanks for joining me on this journey...xoxo
